How to Control Another Mac Remotely

Here’s a quick guide to control a Mac from anywhere!

Need remote access to another Mac?

On the target Mac, go to: System Settings > General > Sharing > Screen Sharing Turn it ON.

Enable Screen Sharing

Under “Allow access for,” choose: All users or Only these users and select specific accounts.

Add Users

Go to System Settings > Network Note the IP address to use for remote access.

Get the IP Address

On your Mac, open Finder > Go > Connect to Server Type: vnc://[IP address]

Connect from Another Mac

Use the username and password of the remote Mac Access will begin if permissions are correct.

Enter Login Credentials

Use iCloud’s Back to My Mac (or third-party apps like AnyDesk, TeamViewer for cross-platform access)
